Daniel J. Starks

Daniel Starks was named Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Jude Medical, Inc. in May 2004. He has served as a member of the St. Jude Medical Board of Directors since May 1996.

Mr. Starks was President and Chief Operating Officer of the company from January 2001 to May 2004. Mr. Starks was President and Chief Executive Officer of the Cardiac Rhythm Management business beginning in April 1998.

He previously was the Chief Executive Officer and President of Daig Corporation after it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of St. Jude Medical. Prior to the merger of Daig Corporation with St. Jude Medical, Mr. Starks was President, Secretary and a Director of Daig.

Mr. Starks is on the Board of Directors of Urologix, a urology medical device company.

John C. Heinmiller

John Heinmiller became Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of St. Jude Medical, Inc. in May 2004. Mr. Heinmiller was named Vice President, Finance and CFO of St. Jude Medical in September 1998, having been acting CFO since July 1998.

Mr. Heinmiller joined St. Jude Medical in May 1998 as Vice President, Corporate Business Development.

From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Heinmiller was Vice President of Finance and Administration of Daig Corporation. Mr. Heinmiller was a member of the Board of Directors of Daig Corporation from 1993 until St. Jude Medical acquired Daig in 1996.

From 1991 to 1995, Mr. Heinmiller was Vice President, Finance and CFO of Lifecore Biomedical, Inc., a medical and surgical products company. From 1986 to 1991, Mr. Heinmiller was an Audit Partner at Grant Thornton, LLP. From 1975 to 1986, Mr. Heinmiller was employed by Grant Thornton, where he served a variety of clients including several companies in the medical device field.

Mr. Heinmiller holds a B.S. in business administration from The Ohio State University and is a licensed CPA.

Paul Bae

Paul Bae became Vice President, Human Resources for St. Jude Medical, Inc. in September 2006. Mr. Bae joined St. Jude Medical in January 2003 and most recently served as General Counsel and Vice President, Human Resources for St. Jude Medical's U.S. Division.

Prior to joining St. Jude Medical, Mr. Bae was Director of Litigation for Alpha Therapeutic Corporation, a biopharmaceutical company based in Los Angeles. Mr. Bae commenced his career as a deputy district attorney for the County of Santa Clara in California, and subsequently worked for a law firm in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Mr. Bae is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles (U.C.L.A.) and the University of the Pacific's McGeorge School of Law.

Frank J. Callaghan

Frank Callaghan became President of the St. Jude Medical Cardiovascular Division in January 2008. He joined St. Jude Medical as Vice President of Research and Development for the Atrial Fibrillation Division in 2005 as part of the Endocardial Solutions acquisition.

At Endocardial Solutions, Mr. Callaghan spent 10 years as Vice President of Research and Development. In this role, he led R&D activities from early-stage conception through clinical trials into market launches.

Mr. Callaghan previously held senior roles with Telectronics Pacing Systems and Cordis Corporation.

Mr. Callaghan has an M.S.E.E. degree in electrical engineering and an M.S. degree in biological sciences (physiology) from Purdue University. He holds 21 patents in implantable arrhythmia control systems and electrophysiology.

Mark D. Carlson, M.D.

Mark Carlson, M.D., joined St. Jude Medical in 2006 as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President, Clinical Affairs, for the Cardiac Rhythm Management Division. He previously served as Professor of Medicine and Associate Vice President for Government Relations at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He also served on the Medical Devices Dispute Resolution Panel for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as on Medicare advisory committees.

Dr. Carlson has chaired several policy committees and conferences sponsored by the Heart Rhythm Society and the FDA, as well as a task force that developed policy recommendations on pacemaker and ICD performance and industry communications. In 2003, Dr. Carlson worked as a Robert Wood Johnson Fellow on the staff of Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch on issues related to Medicare and medical liability litigation reform.

Dr. Carlson received his M.D. from the University of Kansas and a master's degree in public policy from Duke University. He trained in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Carlson's research on arrhythmias has resulted in more than 150 published articles.

Christopher G. Chavez

Christopher Chavez is President of the St. Jude Medical Neuromodulation Division. Mr. Chavez joined St. Jude Medical through its acquisition of Advanced Neuromodulation Systems (ANS). As President, CEO and Director of ANS beginning in 1998, Mr. Chavez guided ANS through a nine-year period of successful growth prior to its acquisition by St. Jude Medical in 2005.

Prior to ANS, he served as Vice President of worldwide marketing and strategic planning at Eastman Kodak's health imaging division, where the division's five worldwide business units reported to him. Mr. Chavez started his career with Johnson & Johnson Medical, Inc. in 1981 and progressed through several cross-functional roles to become Vice President and General Manager of the Infection Control Business Unit, with approximately $500 million in worldwide revenues.

Mr. Chavez holds an M.B.A. from Harvard University and currently serves as a board member for the Medical Device Manufacturers Association and Advanced Medical Optics.

Angela D. Craig

Angela Craig became Vice President of Corporate Relations in January 2006.

Ms. Craig joined St. Jude Medical in May 2005. In her current role, she has overall responsibility for the company's functions that include communications, investor relations, public relations, U.S. public affairs, and corporate U.S. healthcare policy and reimbursement. Ms. Craig also serves as St. Jude Medical's liaison with AdvaMed, the medical device industry's Washington D.C.–based professional trade organization, and as President of the St. Jude Medical Foundation.

Prior to joining St. Jude Medical, Ms. Craig was an executive for public and investor relations and corporate affairs at Smith and Nephew plc, a medical devices company headquartered in London, England.

Ms. Craig began her career as a reporter for The Commercial Appeal newspaper, based in Memphis, Tennessee. She holds a B.A. in journalism from the University of Memphis.

Eric S. Fain, M.D.

Eric Fain, M.D., was promoted to President of the St. Jude Medical Cardiac Rhythm Management Division (CRMD) in July 2007. He previously served as Executive Vice President, Development and Clinical/Regulatory Affairs for CRMD since January 2005.

Dr. Fain became Senior Vice President, Clinical/Regulatory Affairs of St. Jude Medical's Cardiac Rhythm Management business in June 1998. In this position, he was responsible for all cardiac rhythm management clinical and regulatory activities worldwide. He previously held the position of Vice President, Tachycardia Product Planning and Research. Dr. Fain originally joined Ventritex, Inc. in June 1987 as Manager, Clinical Research and was Vice President, Systems Development when St. Jude Medical acquired the company in 1997.

Dr. Fain received his M.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine and holds a Sc.B. degree in applied math/biology from Brown University.

Denis M. Gestin

Denis Gestin was named President of the International Division in January 2008. He was previously named President of SJM Europe, Middle East, Africa and Canada in August 2004. He joined St. Jude Medical in 1997, managing cardiac rhythm management and catheter product sales in France. He was named Managing Director of St. Jude Medical France in 1999 and was promoted to Vice President, Northern Europe and Africa in 2002.

Mr. Gestin has more than 20 years experience in the medical technology industry in Europe, including 10 years at ELA Medical. He holds an advanced business degree from the Ecole des Cadres in Paris, France.

Behzad Khosravi

Behzad (Ben) Khosravi was named Vice President, Global Quality in July 2009. He has been with St. Jude Medical since 1998, most recently serving as Executive Vice President of Product Development and Leads Operations for the Cardiac Rhythm Management Division, and has held progressive senior management positions in Quality, Product Development, Manufacturing Operations and Information technology. He has more than 25 years of diverse experience in the medical device industry, including over 20 years with direct quality assurance responsibility.

Mr. Khosravi has held numerous management positions with Diasonics MRI, Toshiba Medical Systems, General Electric Medical Systems and Johnson & Johnson Medical, where he served as the Vice President of Quality Assurance/Regulatory Affairs.

Mr. Khosravi received his B.S. in mechanical engineering, M.S. in nuclear engineering and M.B.A. in finance, all from The Ohio State University.

Pamela S. Krop

Pamela Krop joined St. Jude Medical in July 2006 as Vice President, General Counsel and Company Secretary. She previously spent 15 years at General Electric Company, most recently as General Counsel of GE Healthcare Bio–Sciences, a $3 billion business acquired by GE, formerly known as Amersham plc.

During her time at GE, Ms. Krop also served as Vice President and General Counsel of GE Medical Systems Information Technologies and as Associate General Counsel of GE Capital Fleet Services.

Ms. Krop has worked at law firms in Washington, D.C. and Minneapolis, Minnesota. She received her law degree from Stanford Law School at Stanford University, where she was an associate editor of the Stanford Law Review. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Thomas R. Northenscold

Thomas Northenscold was named Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer in November 2007. From March 2003 to October 2007, he was Vice President, Administration, where he had responsibility for the Corporate Human Resources function. In January 2005, Mr. Northenscold shifted responsibilities, assuming the leadership of the company's global SAP implementation. Mr. Northenscold joined the company in 2001 as Vice President, Finance and Administration for the Daig Division.

Before joining the company, Mr. Northenscold worked in finance and operations management positions in high–tech and medical–technology companies, including Cardiac Pacemakers, Inc., the cardiac rhythm management business unit of Boston Scientific.

Mr. Northenscold holds a B.S. in management and industrial relations from Minnesota State University and an M.B.A. with a finance concentration from the University of Michigan.

Michael T. Rousseau

Michael Rousseau was named Group President of St. Jude Medical in January 2008. In November 2009, he assumed responsibility for the company's CRM Division, U.S. Division and Corporate Brand and Marketing group. He previously was Group President, responsible for St. Jude Medical's four product divisions. Prior to being named Group President, Mr. Rousseau served as President of St. Jude Medical's U.S. Division.

Mr. Rousseau joined the company in February 1999, as Senior Vice President, Global Marketing for the Cardiac Rhythm Management Division. In August 1999, Mr. Rousseau was appointed Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing and combined the previously separate departments of Marketing and Sales under his leadership.

Prior to his tenure at St. Jude Medical, Mr. Rousseau worked for Sulzer Intermedics, Inc. for 11 years as Vice President of several functional areas and as Director, Risk Management. Mr. Rousseau received his B.B.A. degree in business administration with an emphasis on risk management and insurance from the University of Georgia. He also was published in the University of Georgia, AMA Management textbook and the Sulzer Technical Review, Switzerland.

Jane J. Song

Jane Song was named President of the St. Jude Medical Atrial Fibrillation business in August 2004. She had previously served as President of Cardiac Surgery since May 2002. Ms. Song joined St. Jude Medical in 1998 as Senior Vice President, Operations for the Cardiac Rhythm Management business in Sylmar, California. Her responsibilities in that position included overseeing product development, manufacturing, quality control, customer service, and information technology.

Before joining St. Jude Medical, Ms. Song held executive positions in global operations and business development at EG&G. Prior to her tenure at EG&G, she was employed at Coopers & Lybrand and Texas Instruments.

Ms. Song received her B.S. in engineering from Polytechnic University and an M.S. in engineering from Northeastern University.
