  • Dress professionally.
  • Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled interview time.
  • Know the exact location of your interview, how long it takes to get there, parking, sign-in process, etc.
  • Research St. Jude Medical prior to the interview. Feel free to ask your HR representative any questions you have about the company prior to your interview.
  • Know that our company is a medical device company. We are not a hospital. St. Jude Medical is not affiliated with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Jude Medical Center.
  • Relax! We will ask questions to determine your interest and skill set, but we do not want to make this a high pressure situation.
  • Maintain good eye contact during the interview.
  • Ask for clarification if you do not understand a question.
  • Be honest and be yourself.
  • Bring questions you wish to ask the interviewers.
  • If provided or requested in advance, bring a completed application along with references to the interview.
  • Be prepared to give examples of projects and/or experiences you’ve had in order to answer questions based on your real-world experience.


  • Treat the interview casually or show lack of interest.
  • Answer questions the way you “think” the interviewer wants you to answer.
  • Show up late or unprepared.
  • Have distractions during the interview, such as leaving your cell phone on, texting or chewing gum.
  • Show frustration or make up an answer if you don’t know the answer to a question you’re asked. Ask for clarification.
