As project manager on the finance team, Chandra interacts with senior executive management regularly as she helps fine tune deliverables for St. Jude Medical’s strategic and operating plans, Board of Directors meetings and other business critical corporate initiatives. To the local community, she may be known as the face of St. Jude Medical as she serves as program manager for our corporate giving programs and Twin Cities based employee volunteer initiatives, giving her many opportunities to strengthen and support our mission and brand while encouraging others.
Chandra has been key in restructuring the St. Jude Medical Foundation, which supports organizations whose missions are to promote health awareness and advance the state of medical knowledge through education, research and training. “I’ve worked hard to promote the Foundation and am happy to see that the Foundation has become a respected organization within the communities where SJM employees live and work.”
With the variety of tasks that are part of her role, she is often called upon to think creatively in tight situations. “I write down all ideas, whether or not they seem realistic, practical or even achievable. Some of my best ideas started out as crumpled up paper I’ve pulled from the trash!”
Chandra’s educational background includes a B.S. in Management Information Systems. Having a degree in information technology while working in finance has led to challenges. “I have worked hard to avoid being categorized. Although my degree has an information technology focus, this does not define me or my abilities.” Having a diverse skill set and background has been a plus. She has embraced every opportunity made available and found that both her college and life experiences have opened doors to good career choices. Her advice to those just starting their career, “Live your word. If you say you are going to do something, do it!”
