For David, a typical work week at St. Jude Medical is action packed and full of challenges. There are numerous opportunities to collaborate as a team, which provides him with exposure to and an ability to participate in other parts of the business. Specifically, he works with all levels of employees related to engineering, production, facilities, microbiology, sterilization, quality assurance, finance and human resources.

David’s greatest project is his recent experience with the Malaysia Operations Transfer. This project allowed him to lead several areas of a facility startup, many of which were new to him. He’s found it both challenging and fun to manage the program initiatives in a new country, to learn about a culture and to engage with numerous local resources. He contributed by providing new employees with substantial product, company and industry knowledge, participate in creating a new organization, and sharing details about his culture.

One of David’s favorite ways to spark inspiration is to walk the facility after everyone has left for the day. By spending time in familiar environments without the day-to-day bustle and noise, new ideas flow freely.

David believes that St. Jude Medical is a great place to start a career. Says David, “There are so many challenging opportunities in this dynamic company for dedicated and passionate people. I was initially attracted by the opportunity to help people combined with the ability to learn about high tech products.”  Now,  7-1/2 years later, he is still engaged and energized by these opportunities that St. Jude Medical provides every day.
