Valvular Disease and Heart Valves Media Kit

Valvular Disease and Heart Valves Media Kit

Heart valve disease has various causes and comes in several different forms. When a heart valve becomes diseased, one of two things happen: incompetence (the valve doesn't close tightly enough to prevent backflow of blood) or stenosis (the valve doesn't open wide enough and restricts blood flow). If a valve becomes compromised blood flow is affected and mild to severe symptoms can result, including shortness of breath, chest palpitations and fainting.
