How MediGuide™ Technology Works
While X-ray imaging is necessary for a catheter ablation procedure and involves a naturally occurring kind of radiation, it should be kept at a minimum for your safety. MediGuide Technology can help your doctor do this. MediGuide uses a pre-recorded fluoroscopy image (like an X-ray “picture”) of the parts of your body through which your doctor will guide the catheter. The doctor then uses this 3D image as a map during the ablation procedure, tracking the movement of the ablation catheter in real time. When your heart beats or you breathe or move your body, MediGuide captures the movement and compensates for it, so your doctor will not miss any changes in the image.
