How the Merlin™ Patient Care Network and Merlin@home™ Transmitter Work
The Merlin@home™ Transmitter is the part of the system that you can keep in your home or bring with you while traveling. It connects wirelessly to your implanted cardiac device to read the data stored on the device. It then transmits the data to your doctor to read.
If you live in the United States, you will receive the transmitter in the mail, along with setup instructions. If you will be vacationing outside the United States, ask your doctor to contact St. Jude Medical support service to find out if your Merlin@home transmitter will work in the country in which you will be traveling.
Your Merlin@home transmitter is included with your implanted cardiac device, and there are no additional costs associated with data transmission within the United States if you are using a landline (traditional phone line) for the transmission.
