  • OVERVIEW

A Different Approach to Pain Relief—Designed for You

Imagine your life transformed. Today, there is a therapy designed for difficult-to-treat, chronic pain concentrated in the foot, knee, hip or groin, caused by complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). If you suffer from pain associated with CRPS of the lower limbs and have not received adequate relief from traditional neurostimulation or other therapies, the Axium™ Neurostimulator System may be an option for you.

The Axium Neurostimulator System, offered exclusively from Abbott, is designed for dorsal root ganglion (DRG) therapy. Dorsal root ganglia (DRGs) are spinal structures densely populated with sensory nerves that transmit information to the brain via the spinal column. By stimulating a DRG associated with a specific area of the lower limbs, the Axium neurostimulator system can give your doctor the ability to directly target areas of your body where your pain occurs.

It was the kind of pain where you couldn’t push through it… now I am back to living life again and not having any pain. –Jenifer, DRG therapy recipient

Living Life Again: Jenifer’s Chronic Pain Story

Jenifer and her doctor share her experience with chronic pain and how dorsal root ganglion therapy helped her find relief and get her life back.

Proof of effective relief for patients like you

Clinical studies have clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of DRG therapy. One study, the ACCURATE study, showed that with DRG therapy:1

94.5% of DRG patients did not experience stimulation outside of non-painful areas for 12 months.
  • 74.2% of DRG patients had treatment success 12 months*,1
  • 94.5% of the trial participants did not feel stimulation outside of their area of pain1
  • DRG patients had an average of 81.4% reduction in their pain at 12 months1

While DRG therapy has proven successful in many patients, it is not right for everyone. Talk to your doctor to see if the Axium neurostimulator system may help you manage your pain.
